Renault spends 3 tokens for engine upgrade
The FIA have revealed that Renault has spent 3 engine development tokens for the development of the RS16B power unit, leaving Renault to continue to have the most tokens available in the remainder of the season.
The arrival of the RS16B power unit was highly anticipated by Red Bull Racing, who likely wanted to see if Renault was really making progress after an extremely difficult 2015 season during which tensions between the two parties reached a highpoint.
The situation has however improved, and following confirmation of the improvements, Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso signed new deals to get Renault engines in 2017 and 2018.
With just two upgraded engines available at Monaco, assigned to Red Bull's Ricciardo and factory driver Kevin Magnussen, the other two drivers are set for an upgrade at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Renault still has the most tokens available (21), ahead of Honda (14), Mercedes (11) and Ferrari (6).
