Simply a problem of reliability - Chevrier

Denis Chevrier, the ING Renault F1 Team's Head of Engine track operations, declared that some minor adjustments to the RS27 should be enough to solve the problem Fernando Alonso suffered during the Spanish Grand Prix.

At the moment, the V8 engine is still being analysed at Viry-Chatillon. According to Chevier, the initial diagnosis is a failure near the top of the 2.4 litre unit. The team is confident to solve this problem before the Turkish Grand Prix on 11 May at Istanbul Park.

Chevrier said in the Spanish newspaper 'AS': "The internals were not affected and therefore it is not a fundamental failure and we can address that immediately. Everything from Fernando's side was normal. It was simply a problem of reliability."
