Variable weather, the challenge of Spa

By on

Formula One can experience a typical late summer weather this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, according to the weather forecasters, with heavy rain showers predicted for Saturday and Sunday. This morning Spa got a little preview of the predicted showers when just before the first free practice started, the sky turned grey and umbrella's started to pop open.

Michelin is well prepared for any possible conditions, but it's never easy at Spa-Francorchamps.
Pierre Dupasquier, Michelin's Motorsport Director “There's always the possibility of rain at Spa- Francorchamps. Which might throw up a few surprises. But we are ready to try out our latest-specification wet-weather tyres in racing conditions. If that happens, it will be a first time this season.”

Most drivers are looking forward to a wet race, it would be the first one of the year and it would only make things more sharp. Everything can happen on a wet track. Fingers crossed for rain this weekend.
