Lauda thinks current drivers have no personality

The lack of risk compared to when Niki Lauda used to race has not allowed the drivers to develop a personality and charisma, says the three times World Champion. Safety has been improved in all areas of motor sport, including the lower levels such a karting, giving drivers a more safe and secure environment to race in.

"Back then, death was always an option. Now they drive go-karts until 18 and start an F1 career.They never have a chance to develop a personality," Lauda told "The Mirror" in a recent interview.

Then he added this, speaking of current Champion Lewis Hamilton, "The only charisma he has is his Ms Scherzinger." Nicole Scherzinger being Hamilton's current girlfriend and main vocalist for the American pop group 'The Pussycat Dolls'.
